Buyback 101

We buy books everyday, unfortunately we are unable to quote prices over the phone, so
stop in and see what they are worth or enter them into the form below and we can quote
you a price. I've been in this store for a while and have found that the buyback process
is the least understood part of this business. I have heard just about every question
there is on the topic, & here are a few key points that may help you to better understand:

Selling your book to a bookstore is a completely different transaction than buying your
book.

How is the value of a book determined?
The value of a book is sort of based on a supply and demand principle. If an instructor
will be using your book for the next semester, and we still need copies, you could
receive up to 50% of the new price, even if you bought it used. That's actually a pretty
sweet deal! If your book will not be used next semester, or we already have enough, we
will pay the wholesale buyback price, which is set by a national demand for the book.
We use a textbook system that allows us to give you the highest price among the three
largest wholesale companies in the United States. Other stores usually use only one at
any given time. Think of it as a bluebook value, not unlike a car, and we give you the
best price of three bluebook prices.

Occasionally, there are books that we can not buy back or are of no value in the U.S. In
these rare cases students may choose to leave their unwanted books with us. We
collect unwanted books and donate them to various charities or recycle them. Rest
assured, they will never end up in a landfill. In past semesters we've donated these
titles to Better World Books. This not for profit organization ships books to Africa so that
one more person will get life out of that book.

		Panther Bookstore buys your unwanted books everyday we
		are open.

		Prices may vary and you'll have to bring in your books so we
		can look them over.

		There are some times of the year where we pay extra for
		your books, so keep an eye out for advertisements and tell a friend.
